Newforma Error - Failed to collect all of the files

When someone creates a File Transfer (incl. Shared Folder or Transmittals) during the upload process the following error appears:

Failed to collect all of the files. Active Path: <file path reference> exceeds the maximum allowed by the plugin.

This error is indicating the file file path is beyond the 260 characters supported by the .Net Framework that Newforma is built on.

ANSWER:
The file being sent will need to be shortened to reduce the path below 260 characters, contact the sender to see if they can reduce the filename or sub-folder location or the file.
